Police are investigating the death of a Clinton woman after she apparently fell from the second story of a home in Waterville onto a cement patio.

Stacey MacDonald, 33, was found dead outside the residence at 160 Drummond Ave. at about 1 p.m. on Dec. 26.

Police say MacDonald was an associate of the owner of the home. She had been a guest at the residence on the prior evening, and spent the night at the house.

Investigators believe that at some point during the night, MacDonald – who was sleeping in a bedroom on the second floor of the home – became disoriented and either stepped out or fell from a second story exterior doorway in the house.

The home, which is under construction, has an exterior door off one of the bedrooms where a future balcony is planned but has not been built.

When MacDonald fell, she struck the cement patio and suffered serious internal and external injuries that led to her death.

At this time, MacDonald’s fall appears accidental.
