Do you have a big, old pile of children's books taking up space at your house? Have your kids grown up, and you have tons left over from their childhood, but can't bear to just throw them out? Well, why not donate them to the 6th Annual Children's Book Drive on Tuesday, June 26th, to benefit Literacy Volunteers of Bangor?!

Hosted by Darling's Ice Cream for a Cause from the Darling's Auto Group, it's an annual event to help gather book donations for the L.V.B. The drive will be held at The Briar Patch on 27 Central Street in Bangor. From 11:00a.m. - 5:30p.m., folks will be able to stop by and drop off their donations and enjoy some tasty frozen treats from the Darling's Ice Cream Truck.

Bring your gently used books down, or feel free to drop into The Briar Patch and purchase new ones to donate if you don't have any of your own, but still want to help out. And if you can't make it to this event, no problem! You're more than welcome to drop donations at The Briar Patch, or at any Darling's location statewide during the month of June.

All kinds of books in any genre or format are welcome. Even graphic novels and comic books. The important thing here, is that people are reading. Literacy Volunteers helps folks of all ages and backgrounds achieve their goals. And this is a super duper way you can help. Besides, who doesn't love free ice cream?!

So come on out Tuesday, June 26th and donate. It'll give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside. Which is good. It'll help melt the ice cream!
