Champion Coins Will Help Support Local Cancer Research
A new feature to this weekend's Champion the Cure Challenge will be the chance to buy Challenge Coins and reap the perks connected to them.
This is the 10th anniversary for the EMMC fundraiser that involves a variety of ways to participate. On Saturday, folks will take to the streets of Brewer to walk, run, bicycle, or ride motorcycles in the name of local cancer research. And this is just one of the many fundraisers held during the year. In September, there's a charity paddle and, in October, it's a trail ride with horses.
New this year will be the chance to purchase EMMC Champion the Cure Challenge Coins. Just $25 each, these coins will offer benefits throughout the year, like event parking privileges, discounts on clothing and gear, and several special surprises.
The coins can be purchased this Saturday at the EMMC Champion the Cure Challenge Walk/Run/Cycle/Ride event on Saturday at the Lafayette Family Cancer Center. They will also be available to buy at the Penobscot Paddle on September 15th and the Horseback Trail Ride on October 13th.
The funds raised by the Champion the Cure Challenge benefit treatment and research at EMMC Cancer Care in Brewer. Since 2010, the event has raised more than $3.7 million, all of which has stayed right here in Maine.
