Deep down, I think most people dream of owning their own business. Whether you're tired of punching a clock, or dealing with an jerk of a boss, some days we all just lean back, close our eyes, and think about how we'd do it differently if we were running the show. Well, maybe this is your chance.

The Hope General Store in Hope, Maine is for sale! When you consider that the year-round operation brings in solid revenue, and has an awesome apartment upstairs, you could live and work all in the same spot. Maybe you shouldn't necessarily roll out of bed, and down into the store in your pajamas, but your commute will never be shorter or easier.

Currently listed by Legacy Properties Sotheby's International Realty, the asking price is $350,000. Having owned a couple restaurants in my day, that isn't bad at all. In fact, it's practically a steal. Considering you can live rent free, and let the store sweat the mortgage, you have the potential to be sitting pretty while doing your own thing.

The store, inside and out, is very quaint, and full of small town charm. A lot of natural wood finishes give it a very country vibe. Check it out:

And the apartment is also super cozy, featuring a lot of the same natural, woody vibe. It's nicer than my house for criminy's sake! It even has a sauna! I could get used to living above my work. Especially if both were so well appointed. And like I said....a sauna!!

So maybe it's time to think about a drastic 180 degree career change and go with something outside the box. People have done crazier things than this for sure. And you'll never regret trying something crazy now and then. So grab an apron, fire up the grill, get the cash register ringing, and enjoy your new life as your own boss.
