A Brooksville man is facing charges after allegedly leading a member of the Sheriff's Office on a high-speed chase through Blue Hill.

Logan Lajeunesse, 25, faces multiple charges after the incident on Wednesday, April 2nd that ended in a crash.

The Suspect Lost Control of His Vehicle in Blue Hill Pursuit and Crashed

Hancock County Sheriff's Lieutentant Brian Archer was responding to a report of suspicious activity/trespassing in Blue Hill when he encountered Lajeunesse behind the wheel of a vehicle. Archer tried to initiate a traffic stop to speak with the driver about the incident, but Lajeunesse allegedly refused to stop.

A brief high-speed chase ensued on Union Street in Blue Hill, with speeds in excess of 80 miles per hour. Suddenly, Lajeunesse lost control of his vehicle while trying to negotiate a curve. The vehicle veered off the left side of the roadway, where it collided with a large rock head-on, flipped into the air, and landed on the driver's side. The roof of the vehicle collided with a tree before it came to rest off the highway.

The Blue Hill Suspect Sustained Non-Life-Threatening Injuries.

Lajeunesse was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He's charged with:

  • Eluding an officer
  • Aggravated driving to endanger
  • Exceeding the posted speed limit by 30 mph or more

Following the incident, Lajeunesse was summonsed and released to facilitate his medical care.

This incident remains under investigation.
