Belmont Man Hospitalized With Apparent Stab Wounds

The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after receiving a report Friday of an assault at a home in Belmont.

The call came into the Waldo County Communication Center at 12:40 p.m.

The female caller stated that she went to the home to check on a male friend and found him suffering from stab wounds.

The caller said he had been stabbed several times during an altercation Thursday evening.

The sheriff’s office said in a news release Friday that the man’s injuries were consistent with stab wounds, and they were believed to be non-life threatening.

No one has been charged in connection with the reported assault, which remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
