A Bangor woman and a man from Massachusetts were charged with drug trafficking after crashing their vehicle in Greenbush.

The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office received a report of a suspicious vehicle at the Passadumkeag post office just before 9 p.m. on Monday. A deputy located the vehicle, but it sped off before the occupants could be identified. The deputy pursued the vehicle for several miles, and said it was obvious that the driver was unfamiliar with the area. The vehicle crashed after turning onto a dead end road. The driver, 37-year-old Nicole Murphy of Bangor, was not injured, while her passenger, 28-year-old Sasquan Gaul of Boston, received some minor bruises.

Deputies conducted an investigation which resulted in the seizure of approximately 270 grams of fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with $14,000 in cash. Murphy was arrested on active warrants, several criminal traffic violations, and aggravated trafficking in drugs. Gaul, who's on probation out of Massachusetts, was charged with aggravated trafficking in drugs.

Both people were taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where they'll remain until their first court appearance.
