Bangor Red Cross Announces a Blood Shortage Going Into Long Wknd

American Red Cross has issued a Blood Donation Alert.

Actually the American Red Cross Regional Communications Manager for the Northern New England Region, Mary Brant called it "a very severe blood shortage, probably the worst in many years." Tough news heading into our long weekend.

There is a blood drive scheduled for Tuesday July 6th at the Orono American Legion Hall that needs donors badly. The Hall is located at 156 Park Street. And the hours are from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Eligible donors of all blood types are urged to give now and help avoid delays in medical care for patients this summer.
