A Gouldsboro police officer used a taser on the driver of a pickup truck that put his vehicle in reverse and rammed the officer’s cruiser several times. The two had been involved in an eight-mile chase after the officer tried to pull Eric Edwards over for multiple violations including driving with a suspended license.

A Portland man, who made an impulse decision to buy a 25 dollar scratch ticket while shopping at Hannaford, is now a million dollars richer. Robert Stuart told WVII-TV that it won’t change his life much..he’s going to keep working, will invest some, give some money to his kids, and will fix up his mobile home. And, he says, he’s going to keep playing the lottery.

The Combat Vets Motorcycle Association is raffling off a number of prizes, including a 2006 Victory Vegas 8-ball motorcycle or several cash prizes, all to benefit the House in the Woods in Lee and the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor. Volunteers will be selling tickets on Saturday at Marden's in Brewer from 9 to 3 and then moving to bike night at Darling's Waterfront Pavilion, starting at 5.
