Bangor, Maine News Update: August 21, 2018
State Police are investigating a suspicious death on the Washburn Road in Presque Isle. That’s where the body of a man was found inside a residence and now police are hoping to hear from anyone who might have information about the death. The State Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting an autopsy to determine the man’s identity and cause of death.
A Harrington man is alive today thanks to some passersby who ran to help him when they saw that his house was on fire. The fire chief says the good Samaritans rescued the man who was sleeping on the third floor of the smoke-filled house. The fire marshal’s office is now investigating the cause of the fire.
Folks in Hancock County can get rid of their hazardous household waste this Saturday, including things like pesticides, lye, polishes, and swimming pool chemicals. Also accepted this Saturday from 9 to 1 at Ellsworth High School will be rechargeable batteries, TV’s and computer monitors. Folks will have to pre-register at their municipal office before the event.
A free seminar in Brewer this Thursday will offer community members a chance to get answers to their mental health questions. Once again this year, Dr. Thomas Jensen of the International BiPolar Foundation will address a variety of topics, from depression to bipolar disorder.
