Augusta Police Seek Person Who Robbed the Stone Street Big Apple
Augusta Police are asking for the public's help identifying a person who robbed the Big Apple store on Stone Street over the weekend.
When Did This Happen?
Once again, Augusta Police are investigating a robbery at the Big Apple convenience store that has been robbed before. Officials say the latest robbery happened just after 4:00 Sunday morning. Police received a call from someone who told them an unidentified male suspect had walked into the store and demanded an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise. The person did not display a weapon and no one was hurt in the robbery before the suspect fled.
What Does the Suspect Look Like?
According to Augusta Police Deputy Chief Kevin Lully, the suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5'10" to 6' tall, 160 to 200 pounds, and was wearing a black sweatshirt, black sneakers, and light-colored pants at the time of the robbery. A picture of the suspect from the store's surveillance camera has been released by police, in hopes someone will recognize him.
The Augusta Police Department asks that anyone with information about the suspect and/or the robbery contact their Criminal Investigations Bureau at 207-626-2370, extension 3418. Tips can also be left anonymously through the Tip411 Augusta Maine Police app.
Hasn't This Store Been Robbed Before?
The Stone Street Big Apple seems to be a target for would-be robbers. This same store was robbed in January of this year and September of 2022.
