It's always a popular and impressive holiday light display, and it starts soon.

The Hathaway family has been working hard to get their impressive display of thousands of programmed holiday lights ready. Saturday (Dec. 1) at 4:30 p.m., they'll be lit for the first time this season.

Light peepers should tune their radio to 88.1FM to get the full effect of the lights dancing along to the music. The lights are all computer programmed, a process that takes many hours to perfect.

Rick Hathaway explains in the video above the light display is a to give back to  the Neonatal Unit at Eastern Maine Medical Center. A red stocking hangs by the road to collect donations.

The Hathaway Holiday Lights are located at 21 Hillview Drive in Bangor. The light display runs from 4:30 p.m. to around 9:30 p.m. until Dec. 26.
