You Can’t Have A “Moosehunt Honeymoon” Without a Permit
Got your moose yet?
Well, technically you can’t get your moose without a permit and you have very little time left to apply online.
The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife says online applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on May 14 and can be found by visiting www.mefishwildlife.com.
In June, the moose permit lottery drawing will be held as part of the three-day Moose Lottery Festival held in Greenville.
The annual moose hunt is a rich tradition and very important to many Mainer’s. Just ask Justin and Megan Laite of Lincolnville. They planned their wedding around last year’s moose hunt, and low and behold Megan’s name was drawn for a moose hunting permit so they hit the woods after saying their “I do’s” for a “moosehunt honeymoon.”
The story ends with Megan bagging a 725 pound bull at the end of the week.
