Maine's rivers and streams are swollen with many spilling over their banks with the recent rain and the flooding is being blamed for one death.

The Warden Service says a man was killed when he was swept away by fast moving water.

Warden Corporal John MacDonald says 74-year-old Paul Oliver's body was recovered around 5:30 this morning in Caswell.

Oliver was missing after attempting to move his truck through a flooded portion of Oliver Road in Caswell. Oliver had moved his truck across the flooded dirt roadway and attempted to walk back across the flooded road to his residence.

The water was completely covering the roadway and flowing with considerable force.  Oliver apparently stepped into the opening of a large culvert that was covered by water and was swept downstream.
