Woman Accused of Stealing a Jeep w/Kids Inside Now in Custody
A woman who's been at large since November, after allegedly stealing a Jeep with three young children inside, is now in custody.
42-year-old Shannon Lee Dupree has been at large after making bail in connection with multiple charges, including kidnapping and criminal restraint of a child. Dupree told police she doesn't remember anything about the events of November 9th, when she got into an argument with a man in Livermore. Police say she made her way to nearby market, where she allegedly took a stranger's SUV, despite the fact that there were three small children in the backseat. Dupree allegedly led police on a 15 mile chase before driving the Jeep into a house a garage on a dead-road in Jay.
The Sun Journal reports State Police located Dupree at a Canal Street home in Rumford Tuesday and arrested her on a warrant for violating bail. She's being held at the Androscoggin County Jail.
