Maine Silver Alert Canceled, 90-Year-Old Woman is Safe
Police have canceled a Silver Alert for a 90-year-old Windham woman who has been found safe.
The Subject of the Silver Alert Suffers from Cognitive Issues
Joan Munroe, 90, of Windham suffers from cognitive issues and so officials were concerned about her well-being.
Now, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says Ms. Munroe has been located and is safe.
Ms. Munroe Told Family That She's Headed to Connecticut in Her Red Ford Escape
Windham Police say Munroe was last seen on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at approximately 5:00 in the afternoon at her home on Brand Road in Windham. Ms. Munroe had contacted a relative to say that she was going to Connecticut, but didn't give any further explanation. She also didn't pack any clothes for her trip. Officials say she was driving a red 2014 Ford Escape with Maine registration 69230.
Officials say she's a white female, 5 feet tall, 170 pounds, with brown hair, and brown eyes. She does not own a cell phone and it is unknown what she was wearing when she left.
