What’s Going Into That TBB (Tiny Blue Building) In Bangor?

Like many of us who grew up in the Bangor area, Jenn Morin was very familiar with what used to be the tiny little white building, that sat in the shadow of the big brick building on the corner of Hammond and Union St.

"I've grown up and been in this area all my life. It was a run-down, dilapidated hearing aid place for a long time and then sat vacant... It's been long-standing for many years, just kind of sitting there as a valuable piece of real estate not being fully utilized."

After standing vacant and pretty run down, the building was purchased and then renovated. With the renovations completed, the new building seemed to breathe new life into that little corner of the block. And that new life caught Morin's attention earlier this year when she was shopping around for a new office space for her Bangor-based business.

She looked at the space last February and thought it would work out perfectly.

"It's a tiny space. We've kind of dubbed it the T.B.B. (the Tiny Blue Building) But I think the exposure for our company, being in that space, is just amazing. It really is a prime piece of real estate."

Morin, who has over 25 years in the banking industry, started her own consulting company called Trinity Business Brokers 6 years ago. Trinity Business Brokers perform business valuations and help people buy and sell their businesses. Until recently, they have been operating out of the United Insurance building on Hammond Street. But Morin said she wanted to move to a spot that could give the business a little more exposure.

That's when she found the T.B.B. and was sold!

"I was really picky about where we were going to be for a space. I searched for 11 months for the right space because I didn't need just the office space; I really wanted to have the visibility. Because a lot of people don't realize that there's a resource in the community, that can help businesses transition. Statistically, such a large percentage of business owners don't realize that there's actually a way to exit out of a business."

Morin says why they are still getting settled in the spot, painting, and adding signage, they have started seeing clients in the space. She expects they will fully be complete by next week.

"The space is beautiful. I just feel fortunate for her to give us the opportunity to make this our home base for the next couple of years and look forward to the exposure that we're gonna get being in such a prime piece of real estate."

Morin says the company is currently comprised of 3 employees, but that they are looking to expand a little, once they're settled in their new digs.

"We've had lots of messages and emails sent to me. The outpouring of love from past clients and colleagues, saying 'Congratulations, you guys are gonna rock it in that space!' It's been wonderful."
