The ATV Crash Happened Saturday Afternoon in West Forks
According to the West Forks Volunteer Fire and Rescue, crews were called to the Bald Mountain Trail at approximately 2:30 Saturday afternoon for a report of an ATV crash. Officials say the driver was navigating his ATV through a large dip in the road when the ATV went up in the air, falling backward, and ejecting the driver. The man was not wearing a helmet and suffered head injuries. His current condition is not known.

A LifeFlight Helicopter Was Called to Transport the Patient from Lake Moxie
The patient was originally transported from the scene by an Upper Kennebec Valley Ambulance, but when he became less stable, a paramedic requested help from LifeFlight. The helicopter touched down at the Lake Moxie Boat Landing and got the patient to the hospital, marking the first time LifeFlight has landed at the boat landing since it was paved years ago.
West Forks Volunteer Fire and Rescue reminds residents to always wear a helmet when driving or riding ATVs, motorcycles, snowmobiles, bicycles, and dirt bikes.
