Last night's rain is causing some black ice this morning that's delayed school in one community.

The SAD 4/RSU 80 school districts are delayed two hours this morning, and there is no morning Pre-K. Residents from Dexter, Dover, and Charleston are reporting that the roads are a sheet of ice. Black ice is being found in Hudson, Bradford, and the Belfast area. And these are just the locations we've heard about. We're sure that many roadways have at least patchy ice this morning, so folks will want to slow down and use caution on their commute.

A Facebook group 'Maine Weather/Road Conditions' is a great source for information about the specific roads that you plan to travel. The administrators have some strict guidelines about how to post your inquiry, but it's worth it to adhere to the formula.

In addition, folks can learn more about delays and possible interstate speed restrictions at the 511 New England website. Temperatures will warm by tomorrow but, with nasty weather expected for the weekend, these are valuable resources to help you stay safe.
