Maine Police are Investigating a Woman’s Murder in Waldoboro

Maine State Police say a Damariscotta man is charged with murder for the death of a woman in a Waldoboro home.

The deceased has been identified as Levern Kelley, 53, of Waldoboro. Officials say her death is a homicide, however her cause of death has not been released.

A 911 call to the Waldoboro Police Department just before 8:30 am on Saturday requested a well-being check of a woman on Waldoboro's Genthner Road. Waldoboro Officers and members of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office responded and found a deceased adult female.

Maine Man Arrested in Florida for Waldoboro Homicide

Maine Police discovered that suspect, James Clark of Damariscotta had fled the state and travelled to Florida. He was arrested on August 15, 2025 at the Red Carpet Inn in the South Daytona are and charged with murder.

Clark will be returned to Maine to stand trial.
