Those of us who live in Orrington love a good time, so it doesn't surprise me that when the Orrington parent-teacher group started planning a trunk-or-treat, they decided to kick it up a notch...or two.

Instead of holding the Trunk-or-Treat at the school, the Orrington PTG has partnered with local businesses to make the party something extra-special.

There will be something for everyone on Saturday, October 24th, at the Kings Mountain Tree Farm and Gift Shop.

To start, NFR Maine will have adoptable pets for everyone to meet and snuggle from 10 am to 2 pm.

While they don't do on-the-spot adoptions, you can visit their website and get pre-approved before the event.

Orrington, Maine Trunk-or-Treat Will Have Food Trucks and Darling's Ice Cream Truck for a Cause

People will find plenty to eat, with Freshie's serving delicious wood-fired pizza from noon to 9 pm.

Backyard Bakery will provide yummy gluten-free treats from 3 pm to 9 pm, and Darling's Ice Cream Truck for a Cause will be handing out ice cream from 4 to 6.

A trunk-or-treat will be held at the Kings Mountain location from 4 pm to 6 pm for just $5, and they hope kids will wear their costumes to add to the fun.

Everyone's invited, whether they have a connection to Orrington or not.

The Kings Mountain Corn Maze will be open from 5:30 to 9 pm for their Maze After Dark. I've done this before, and it's a blast! Bring a flashlight because it gets really dark on that mountain.

An adult will oversee the maze from the security tower, and law enforcement personnel will keep everyone safe.

I can't wait to see the inflatable costume foot race, which begins at 6 pm. There will be three age categories, and everyone ages 5 and up wearing an inflatable costume can race for a $5 entry fee.

It promises to be an awesome night of family fun on King's Mountain, Center Drive, in Orrington.
