Two people were arrested after drug agents seized hundreds of bags of heroin and thousands in cash from their apartment.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency's Mid-Coast Task Force searched the apartment of a Brunswick couple on Friday. Seized in the search were 800 bags/doses of heroin, with a street value of $16,000, along with $5,000 in cash. Drug agents have been investigating the couple for the past month, who allegedly were traveling outside Maine to buy heroin and bring it back to Maine to sell in Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties.

Arrested were Justin Coffin and Tara Dry-Crooker, both 35, who lived together at 23 Oak Street in downtown Brunswick. Both were taken to the Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset and charged with unlawful trafficking in heroin. Coffin's bail was set at $2,000 and Dry-Crooker's bail was set at $500.

Assisting drug agents were deputies from the Lincoln and Sagadahoc Sheriff's Offices, along with Bath and Brunswick Police.
