Some of the best bands from across the state will gather in Bangor on Sunday to raise money for a very special little boy. Tripp Murray is battling cancer for the second time in his life, and he's only 3 years old. Obviously, his family is feeling the strain of the cost of his illness, as well as the emotional toll it's taking on them.

It's been a roller coaster ride for this family. After battling brain cancer, including more than a year of radiation, chemotherapy, and a bone marrow transplant, Tripp was declared cancer free. But the joy was short-lived when, in September of this year, they learned that his cancer was back. Now, Tripp is facing another year of radiation. And the hair he was so proud was growing back is now starting to fall out again.

His family is devastated. So much of their time with their young son has been spent in hospitals and Ronald McDonald houses. Tripp's Mom has even been forced to drop out of nursing school twice.

The story touched the hearts of several local musicians who decided it was time to hold a benefit. The money raised will benefit Tripp's family. And the gathering will let them know that there are people who care and are hoping for a full recovery for Tripp.

The 'Tunes for Tripp' fundraiser will be held from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Febuary 1st at the Bangor Elks Club, on the Odlin Road in Bangor. There will be music all day, a food table, and a silent auction with some great items up for bid!

If you can't make it to the fundraiser but would still like to contribute, a savings account has been set up in Tripp Murray's name at Bangor Savings Bank. Or you can mail checks or money orders, made out to Tripp or Kim Murray to:  Tripp Murray, P. O Box 1343, Bangor, Maine 04402.

Organizer Randy Blevins posted on Facebook the line-up of bands. Stop by, have some fun, and let this sweet family know that you wish them all the best!
