The charges stem from an incident reported at approximately 2:00 p.m. Tuesday on Foreside Road in Topsham. Police Officers responded to a report of a protection order violation. Foreside Road Was Closed Down for a Time Due to the Ongoing Investigation

Out of a concern for public safety, police closed off that portion of Foreside Road to traffic and set up a perimeter around Mr. Lubee's house. They obtained a search warrant for the residence but, at approximately 5:00, learned that the suspect had been transported from his home moments before officers arrived. Foreside Road was reopened to traffic while officers obtained a warrant for Lubee's arrest.

About a half hour later, Barry Lubee was taken into custody by the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Office and transported to the Topsham Police Department.
