A Swanville man was arrested after police say he threatened to kill his neighbor and cut the man with a knife.

Police responded July 26 at 10:40 p.m. to a reported assault on Oak Hill Road, the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.

The victim, a 60-year-old male, told police his neighbor came to his home to ask for a ride to Searsport.

The man told police an argument broke out and his neighbor pulled out a knife.

He said the man threatened to kill him before stabbing him in the leg.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Waldo County General Hospital.

The neighbor, Jeffrey Stump, 37, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated reckless conduct.

Stump was taken to the Waldo County Correctional Center and was being held Monday on $2,500 cash bail.
