Whether it’s books being adapted for the screen or bold posts stirring conversation, the Pine Tree State native has certainly kept busy this year.

On Friday, September 26th, Stephen King took to X and declared, ‘I am now the most banned author in the United States—87 books.’
He followed it up by urging readers to grab one of his works and see ‘what all the pissing & moaning is about,’ adding that self-righteous book banners don’t always get their way because, as he put it, ‘This is still America, dammit.’

Many of the replies to King’s post have been sharp, with some users dismissing his claim and criticizing both his writing and his outspoken personality.
Others note that much of the backlash is politically charged, since King hasn’t shied away from sharing his strong opinions about the current administration.
