A New Hampshire man faces charges stemming from a high-speed police chase that ended in Bangor on Tuesday.

Christos Kassaras, 54,of Goffstown, N.H., faces multiple charges after allegedly leading police on a 47-mile chase from Clinton to Bangor with speeds reaching 112 miles per hour.

Police pulled the stolen 1997 Jeep Kassaras was driving over in Clinton for a traffic violation. After an interaction with a state trooper, Kassaras fled the scene.

Police deployed spike strips in Newburgh, but the Jeep continued north on Interstate 95 in Bangor driving on the rims. The Jeep exited at Broadway where police ended the chase.

Kassaras was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center and then Penobscot County Jail. He faces charges including eluding an officer, criminal speed, driving to endanger, unauthorized use of property, refusing to submit to arrest, and passing a roadblock.
