Maine State Police identify a man who was found dead after a report of a fight in St. Albans.

Where Did This Happen?

It was nearly 3:00 Wednesday afternoon, November 22nd, when a 911 call was received at the Somerset County Communications Center which led to the discovery of a deceased person. The caller reported two males fighting at 37 Hartland Road in St. Albans and said that rescue was needed. Members of several agencies responded to the scene and found one of the males deceased.

Has Anyone Been Arrested?

Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit Central was called to the scene to investigate the circumstances leading up to the person's death. The body will undergo an autopsy at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, to confirm the cause and manner of their death.

Officials say there is no risk to the public. So far, there's no indication that any arrests have been made in connection to this case, which remains under investigation.

What Do We Know About the Victim?

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says the deceased has been identified as Harvey Elderkin, 57, of Hartland.
