Spend a Day Golfing in Hermon & Help the Vets’ House in the Woods
The only thing better than a day of golfing is playing golf while also raising money for an amazing cause.
When and Where is the Golf Scramble?
Alright, that's what my husband tells me. I don't actually golf unless there's a windmill to hit my ball through. But, with summer winding down, a day of golfing sounds good even to me. And the best part of this Golf Scramble is that it will benefit an organization that hosts outdoor adventures for Veterans, active military, and their families.
But before we talk about the House in the Woods, I'll give you the rundown on the golf scramble, which is scheduled for Sunday, September 24th. Golfers will gather at the Hermon Meadows Country Club with sign-ups starting at 8am and the shotgun start scheduled for 9. The cost is just $60 per player, and that includes greens fees, bag drop service, and a cart.
Will Any Prizes Be Awarded?
There will be cool extras to make the day a little more interesting. Prizes will be awarded for:
- First, Second, and Third Place
- Men's and Women's Longest Drive
- Men's and Women's Closest to the Pin
Mulligans will be available, if you really feel like you need to take the shot over again. But it's going to cost you $5 each time. And they're going to feed you lunch, so you can make a day of it.
If you're interested in signing up, contact Mike Lawrence at 951-7977 to get registered.
Who Is the Fundraiser For?
It's all to benefit the House in the Woods, which is a wonderful facility in Lee that helps our military members create a supportive community through adventures. The folks at the House in the Woods organize fun outdoor activities for Veterans, active members of the military, and their families so they can relax, share, bond, and deal with the stress, loss, grief, and other emotions that make day-to-day life challenging.
