
Skowhegan Police Arrest 2, Seize Fentanyl During Traffic Stop
Skowhegan Police stopped a driver with a suspended license and ended up seizing fentanyl and arresting 2 passengers.
3 People Were in a Vehicle Stopped by Police in Skowhegan
It was approximately 5:00 Monday night when Corporal Tyler Lafreniere stopped a Silver Honda CRV in the parking lot of the Georges Banana Stand grocery store in Skowhegan. The driver, Celeste Wing, 38, of Hartland, was operating on a suspended driver's license. Also in the vehicle were Zechariah Sawyer, 22, of Warren, and Travis Quimby, 38, of Madison.
Skowhegan Police Seized Fentanyl During the Traffic Stop
During the investigation, the Corporal noticed either Sawyer or Quimby in the back seat throw an object inside the vehicle. As Corporal Lafreniere and Officer Alex Burns continued to investigate, they found a package in the front passenger seat that tested positive for Fentanyl. This package eventually led them to Zachary, who had remnants of Fentanyl in his pockets and pants.
2 of the 3 People in the Skowhegan Traffic Stop Were Taken to Jail
Celeste Wing received a summons for operating on a suspended license and was released from the scene. Zechariah Sawyer was arrested for aggravated trafficking scheduled W drugs. He was taken to the Somerset County Correctional Facility where bail was set at $50,000 cash. Travis Quimby had a warrant for failure to appear in Kennebec County and was also arrested.
