A tractor-trailer truck overturned and collided with a utility pole in Dayton on Monday.

Police say the driver lost control of the truck on Route 35. The vehicle overturned and spilled its load of sand and gravel. The truck also collided with a utility pole.

Central Maine Power and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection were called to the scene.

Part of the road was closed for hours while crews worked to clean up the accident.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.
