Have You Seen The Old Bangor High School Building Lately?
What is going on at the old Bangor High School on Harlow Street?
Lots of scaffolding for an upcoming project.
According to Robert Baldacci on Facebook:
We sold it late 2021 to CHOM a great non-profit housing development group. They are completely rehabbing the building and restoring the old auditorium, Should be very cool for residents of the Schoolhouse and for the City.
Community Housing of Maine, CHOM is undertaking a full renovation of the historic building. There are currently 60 units in the building- efficiencies, one, two, and three-bedroom units.
And when they are finished there will be six new apartments as well as a conversion from the storage units which replaced the former auditorium, back to an auditorium.
It is expected to include a playroom and a place to meet and socialize with friends and neighbors.
From the look of the exterior, there might be a new roof as well.
The sign suggests it’ll be done this year, with the new units ready for occupancy in 2023.
Looking forward to seeing this completed.
