Human remains found in New Hampshire have been identified as a missing Windham man.

Alex Jackson Has Been Missing for Nearly a Year

The deceased has been identified as Alex Jackson, 34, of Windham who was reported missing by his family in May 2023. They notified police when they were unable to contact him and all calls went to voicemail. Family members told authorities that this was not typical behavior for him.

Officials Say His Body Was Found in New Hampshire

Maine and New Hampshire law enforcement officials searched an area in Stark, New Hampshire on Friday, April 19. During that search, human remains were found and transported to the office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord, New Hampshire.

The CME confirmed that the remains belonged to Jackson. Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says the cause and manner of death are not being released at this time.

An Arrest Was Made Last Month, Despite the Fact That Jackson Hadn't Been Found

On March 31, 2024 Joseph Chute was arrested and charged with Jackson's murder. Police have not indicated what led them to charge Chute before Jackson's body had been found.
