Talk about tradition. And when you do something year after year, how fast time passes. When you look back you have memories from recently and way way back.

Here comes the 59th Annual Schoodic Lake Ice Fishing Derby this coming Saturday and Sunday. 59th. Wonder what it was like in 1962.  It sure is a huge event all these years later.

The grand prize is a 2020 Sportsman 450 H.O. ATV.  Imagine that.  Plus thousands of dollars in gift certificates, and even cash money prizes.  Their award ceremony is so big that it is streaming on-line.

Tickets are only $10.  And are available at numerous businesses in Milo, in Brownville, in Brownville Jct. and also available at the Milo Town Office, and from any Milo Firefighter.  Proceeds benefit Milo Fire Department charities and events. And $1 from every ticket will benefit Make-A-Wish Maine.

The Schoodic Lake Ice Fishing Derby also includes fish caught in Ebeemee, Seboeis and Boyd Lakes.  Find more information on their Facebook page.
