
Maine Man Found With Illegal Drugs While On Bail for Trafficking
A Sabattus man who was out on bail for drug trafficking now faces new charges after a second home search.
Strout is Now Being Held Without Bail
The suspect has been identified as David Strout, 34, of Sabattus. His latest arrest netted the following charges:
- Unlawful aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine
- Unlawful trafficking in cocaine
- Violation of bail conditions
He was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail and is being held without bail.
His First Arrest Netted Crack Cocaine
Strout's first arrest happened on April 22, 2024 when agents arrested him at 27 Meadow Lane, in Sabattus for unlawful trafficking in schedule drugs. He had been the subject of a drug trafficking investigation which included the alleged undercover purchases of crack cocaine by members of law enforcement. Strout was arrested during the execution of a search warrant at his home and was later released on bail.

On the Second House Search, Officials Seized Coke and Meth
On Wednesday, July 31, 2024 a second search warrant at the Meadow Lane home was conducted at approximately 5:00 in the morning. The search warrant was obtained after an ongoing drug trafficking investigation of Strout since he had been released on bail. The State Police Tactical Team assisted in this search to ensure it was a safe situation. Seized in that search were approximately 200 grams of methamphetamine and cocaine, as well as other evidence of drug trafficking and approximately $5,000 in suspected drug proceeds.
Strout was arrested at the home without incident. When officials realized his girlfriend and two children were also in the residence, the state's Department of Health and Human Services was contacted to inform them of the presence of minor children.
