A man jumped to his death Sunday form the Penobscot Narrows Bridge, according to media reports.

Citing officials with the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, the Ellsworth American is reporting that the man's body was recovered from the Penobscot River.

The Maine State Police are investigating. The man has not been identified.

Last year, the Maine Department of Transportation installed suicide hotlines at both ends of the bridge.

Anyone who is contemplating suicide is encouraged to call the crisis hotline at 1-888-568-1112.
