Presque Isle Police Investigate Shooting, Suspect At Large
Presque Isle Police say one person has been hospitalized and a shooting suspect remains at large this morning.
WAGM-TV reports police received a 911 call at 5:50 Monday morning from a man who said he'd been shot and that he was dying. Officers responded and found a man with gunshot wounds that was transported to Northern Lights AR. Gould Hospital. The victim's identity has not been released and police say the suspect has not been identified or apprehended.
Officials are calling this an isolated incident, however, the campuses of Northern Maine Community College, University of Maine at Presque Isle, Skyway Middle School, a daycare center, and other businesses in the area have gone into lockdown mode while police search for the suspect. MSAD #1 has changed their delay to a closure. All MSAD#1 schools are closed today.
Local residents are being asked to stay inside with their doors locked until the person can be taken into custody. This is a joint investigation between the Presque Isle and Maine State Police.
