Lewiston Police are asking for the public's help locating a dark-colored vehicle that struck a pedestrian and then took off.

It was just after 2:00 Sunday morning when a man was struck by a vehicle on Lisbon Street, near the Alfred Plourde Parkway overpass. Police told WGME-TV that it appears the vehicle was heading outbound, and was dark grey or charcoal in color. Pieces of the vehicle were found at the scene.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was left on the road with significant injuries. He was taken to Central Maine Medical Center for emergency surgery.
