Millinocket Police and Game Wardens spent the night searching for two women who were last seen on Sunday afternoon.

UPDATE: DEEMI Search and Rescue report the two women were found 'in good shape.' They say early indications are that the women's vehicle became stuck on a washed-out culvert on a road near Caucomgomoc Lake.

Officials say Aprylle Tapley-Pepper and Tammy Michaud took part in a pool tournament at Highlands Tavern in Millinocket earlier that day. WABI-TV reports the two women reportedly left at around 4:00, telling others that they were going for a ride on the Golden Road. Neither woman has been seen since. They're believed to be in a grey Kia Sportage, with Maine Veteran license plate 872-86.

Officials are asking that people not go looking on their own, but leave it to experienced searchers. The area is very muddy and they don't want others to run into trouble in the woods. Wardens hope to search by air on Tuesday, as well as continuing the ground search.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts is asked to contact Millinocket Police or the Maine Warden Service.
