Folks can buy plants this weekend to beautify their yards while supporting a program that encourages Brewer High school students to appreciate the outdoors.

Brewer High School's Outdoor Education class is an alternative program that offers a different kind of PE experience. For kids who would rather lace up hiking boots than pull on a pair of tennis shoes, this program offers outings that involve camping, hiking, and canoeing. It's a credited course but, because it's an alternative education program, is largely funded through donations.

So, this Saturday, the OE students will be holding their annual Flower Sale to raise money. Folks can pick up everything from Wave Petunias to 6-packs of Annuals and Vegetables, Hanging Baskets, Deck Pots, and a lot more. The sale will be held from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday, at the Outdoor Education building, located behind the tennis courts, and again on Saturday, at the front entrance to Brewer High School. All the flowers are being provided by Ellis Greenhouse and Nursery in Hudson.

A car wash will also be held, weather permitting.
