Penobscot Narrows Observatory Remains Closed Until Further Notice

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Penobscot Narrows Observatory will remain closed.

The Maine Department of Transportation says the Penobscot Narrows Observatory will remain closed until further notice. A virtual tour is available online.

Fort Knox's opening date has been pushed to May 15, according to the Fort Knox Maine Facebook page. While the gate will remain locked, the surrounding grounds continue to be open to the public.

The Fort Knox website asks visitors to not visit if feeling ill, wash their hands frequently, and practice social distancing.
