Pasta Drive In Four Communities Saturday
The crews from Q-106.5, along with three of our sister stations, will be collecting pasta at Hannaford stores this Saturday, to benefit local food pantries.
It's known as the 'Ton of Pasta,' and we do it each year in February to help stock the food pantries' shelves. This is a tough time of year for the facilities that provide meals for the food insecure, because they tend to be forgotten once the holidays are over. Unfortunately, this is also the time of year when they're most in demand because Mainers are strapped from paying the heating oil bill and the plow truck driver.
So four of Townsquare Media's radio stations will be set up this Saturday at Hannaford supermarkets around the area. We'll have sister stations at Hannafords in Ellsworth, Brewer, and at the Airport Mall in Bangor. If you're closer to those stores, by all means, donate there.
Q-106.5 will be set up at the Old Town Hannaford, and we'd love it if you could stop by, say hello, and donate some pasta for the cause. It can be spaghetti, angel hair pasta, linguine, macaroni....whatever you want to donate. And if you want to add a can or two of sauce, we'll take that too. Why pasta? Because it's affordable and a box of spaghetti can feed a family of four. It's hearty comfort food that's easy for the food pantries to store and hand out. And who doesn't love a good pasta feed?
The Townsquare Media Ton of Pasta food drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. We hope to see you there!
