Otisfield fire officials say two people were found deceased in a house fire Sunday night.

What Do We Know About the Deceased?

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says the deceased are believed to be Jean Jalbert, 77, and Donna Jalbert, 65, who lived at the residence. DNA testing will be used to identify the remains.

Where Was the Fire?

Officials say the fire was reported at approximately 11:30 Sunday night. Crews from multiple surrounding communities responded to the fire at a home located at 121 Bolster Mills Road that included an attached barn. The Portland Press Herald reports the fire was fully involved by the time firefighters arrived at the scene.

Do They Know What Caused the Fire?

Otisfield is located in Oxford County. Officials say accessing water to fight the fire, which is common in rural areas. The State Fire Marshal's Office is now investigating to determine how the fire started.
