
Orrington Maine Man Charged With Arson for House Fire
An Orrington man is charged with arson for a fire at his family's home.
Orrington Maine Man Faces Charges for a January Fire in that Town
Mark Meierdirk, 51, of Orrington was arrested on Monday by the State Fire Marshal's Office and charged with arson.
The charges stem from a fire on January 30, 2025 at 978 Brewer Lake Road in Orrington, where Meierdirk was living.

Fire officials say the home, which belonged to Meierdirk's family, was a total loss.
Maine State Fire Marshal Investigators Have Been Looking Into the Orrington Fire
An investigation into the fire has been ongoing for the past several months, including interviews with witnesses and a review of financial records.
On Monday, June 2nd, the Fire Marshal's Office conducted a search warrant at the property to document items investigators say Mr. Meierdirk removed from the home before the fire and stored in an outbuilding on the property.
Orrington Maine Man Charged With Two Counts of Arson
As a result of the investigation, Mark Meierdirk has been charged with two counts of arson. One count is for causing a fire to allow a person to collect insurance proceeds, and the other is for damaging or destroying the property of another.
Meierdirk was taken to the Penobscot County Jail where his bail was set at $10,000 cash.
