4 People Face Drug Charges After 2 Traffic Stops in Orrington
Penobscot Sheriff's Deputies arrested four people and seized a variety of drugs during two traffic stops over the weekend.
Who Was Arrested in the First Traffic Stop?
The first of the two traffic stops occurred at approximately 10:30 Saturday night when the Deputy Sheriff assigned to Orrington stopped a vehicle driven by Michael Clinch, 38, of Carmel. During the stop, the Deputy noticed indicators of illegal drug activity and so a search was conducted.
Were Drugs Seized in This Search?
Seized in that search were:
- 6..1 ggw of fentanyl
- 9.5 ggw of methamphetamine
- 2.2 ggw of cocaine base (crack cocaine)
- 15.6 ggw of suspected crack cocaine
- 4.2 ggw of cocaine base
- 5 20 mg methylphenidate pills
Based on the drug seizures, Michael Clinch was arrested and charged with:
- Aggravated trafficking in fentanyl
- Unlawful possession of cocaine base
- Unlawful possession of methamphetamine
- Unlawful possession of methylphenidate
The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office was assisted by a K9 with the Buckport Police Department who alerted on the vehicle.
What Was Seized in the Second Traffic Stop?
A second, separate traffic stop was conducted on Sunday, at approximately 8:20 in the evening. The Deputy Sheriff assigned to the Town of Orrington stopped a vehicle on River Road, which resulted in the following arrests:
- Randy Webber, 51, of Stonington is charged with aggravated trafficking of scheduled W drugs
- Staphne Webber, 35, of Ellsworth is charged with unlawful trafficking of scheduled W drugs and failure to register a vehicle by current owner
- Garrett Collins of Bucksport is charged with unlawful trafficking of scheduled W drugs and was also held for probation violations
The charges stem from a search of the vehicle containing the three suspects after the Deputy Sheriff noticed indicators of illegal drug activity.
Seized that search was:
- 286 ggw methamphetamine
- 4.5 20mg methylphenidate pills
- 7.9 ggw cocaine base (crack cocaine)
- .38 special handgun, loaded with 2 rounds (found on Webber's person)
Again, the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office was assisted by a K9 with the Bucksport Police Department who alerted on the vehicle.
