One Dead, One Seriously Injured In Litchfield Crash [UPDATE]

A second person had died as the result of a crash involving a car and tractor-trailer in Litchfield on Tuesday.

The two vehicles collided at the intersection of Route 126 and Hallowell Road at about 11:30 a.m., reports WABI.

Police say a passenger in the car, Anita Ward, 82, of West Gardiner, was killed in the crash. The driver of the car, Grace Marston, 92, of West Gardiner, was taken to Central Maine Medical Center , where she later died.

Another passenger, a 14-year-old girl who was riding in the back seat, suffered minor injuries in the crash. The driver of the truck was not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
