Family members of the deceased, whose name has not been released, contacted the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office Thursday evening to report they were unable to locate a 73-year-old man who lived alone in Newburgh. Penobscot County Officials Searched the Property and Found the Man in a Shed

Deputies decided to conduct a search of the property and discovered a small shed built along the building. The door was secured from the outside but the deputies decided to search inside and that's where they found him. Officials say it appears the man was in the shed tending to some frozen pipes when the door closed and latched, trapping him inside. Due to his mobility issues, he was unable to get out of the shed or out from under the home.
