Chris Young is hard at work in the studio, and fans may get to hear new music sooner than expected. In a recent interview with the Boot, the "Hangin' On" singer hints at his next project.

"I'm just really excited," he says. "I've been in the studio constantly."

So exactly when can we expect to hear these new tunes?

"It'll be sooner than you think!" he assures.

Young is currently on the road for the majority of 2018 as part of his Losing Sleep World Tour. The perks of being the headliner is that Young was able to hand select many of the acts that serve as openers on his tour.

"I've been so lucky to have people like Lanco, Kane Brown, Morgan Evans, Dan + Shay ... There's not much I can say other than, it's been almost perfect," he reflects. "If anything could actually ever be perfect, I'd say it's been this year."

Young recently achieved a bucket-list moment when he played a sold-out show at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena as part of his headlining tour.

"It's been a wild, crazy year. [I got to check] Bridgestone off my list," he marvels. "In terms of having played there and packing out almost 14,000 people. It's just been incredible."

A native of Murfreesboro, Tenn, the show was special for Young. He held his own as a headliner and even invited out friend and mentor Brad Paisley to join him during the milestone performance. The singer's surprise introduction was a highlight of the show as the two performed a duet of "I'm Still a Guy." Paisley also took the time to commend Young on his accomplishment in selling out the venue, citing him as "one of the finest people to ever make music in Nashville."
