I hope beyond hope that it's a scary movie.

I came across this post at the Bangor Historical Society Facebook page and got pretty excited. I enjoy having the crap scared out of me from time to time. At least in groups of people. Whenever I'm scared when I'm alone, I scream like a 10 year-old girl. Like, all high pitched and terrified. It usually just ends up being the de-humidifier.

But really, if you're going to all the trouble to show a movie in a cemetery, it better be something nuts.  I say, whatever. It seems like there's an unspoken contract made, that if I'm in a cemetery at night, I'd better be on the verge of terror the entire time.

But...

Here's the thing, because of licensing issues, they can't say what the movie is yet. I'm assuming so they don't have to break as many hearts. It's bad enough to entice me into watching a killer (no pun intended) movie, but it's another to tell me what it is, and then cancel. So I get it. You need to keep up the suspense as long as possible.

Even though they haven't announced the movie yet, they have picked a date. That will be Thursday, August 25th. *Sigh*... A Thursday? Why are we having movie night in a cemetery on a Thursday? Meh, oh well. It is what it is.

At any rate, if this all comes together, it sounds like an awesome time. As one person pointed out in the comment section of the BHS Facebook page, Mount Hope Cemetery takes on a whole different vibe at night. And I, for one, am looking forward to seeing just what that vibe is. Unless it's Bambi. Then I'm leaving.
