Deaths of Man, Woman in Augusta Ruled Murder-Suicide
Police are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman at an apartment in Augusta as a murder-suicide.
The bodies were discovered at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, when Augusta Police responded to a welfare check at 93 Northern Avenue in Augusta.
Loryn McCollett, 30, was stabbed to death by her boyfriend, Eric Ryan. Ryan, 30, formerly of Clinton, shot and killed himself as officers knocked on the apartment door, police said
Officers entered the apartment and found Ryan. McCollett was then located in another room.
Police say there is no threat to the public.
